About the Video Editor Role (Tamil)
Lokal is looking for a highly creative Video Editor who can produce short-form and mid-length videos that perform well across platforms like Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and social media ads.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit short-form and mid-length videos: reels, promos, ads, explainers
- Create strong hooks, fast pacing, and engaging storytelling
- Adapt edits to platform-specific behavior (Instagram, Shorts, Ads)
- Enhance videos with color grading, text animations, transitions, and sound design
- Collaborate with writers, designers, and creative leads
- Stay updated with editing trends, memes, cultural references, and audio trends
- Analyze performance metrics and optimize edits for better retention and CTR
- Edit content in English and Tamil with linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance
Requirements & Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools
- Strong portfolio showcasing reels, ads, or promotional videos
- Understanding of social media algorithms and engagement tactics
- Strong storytelling, visual creativity, and sound design skills
- Language Proficiency:
- Tamil & English (written and spoken)
- Cultural sensitivity for regional audiences
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with tight deadlines
