Punjab National Bank (PNB) has officially released the recruitment notification for 545 Local Bank Officer (LBO) vacancies in the Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I) cadre. Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

• Degree: Bachelor’s degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognized University or Institute.
• Banking Experience: Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience in either Clerical or Officer cadre at a Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank (RRB).
• Language Proficiency: Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak the official local language of the applied state.

2. Age Limit (As of July 1, 2026)

• Minimum Age: 20 Years
• Maximum Age: 30 Years

Upper Age Relaxation

• SC / ST: 5 Years
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years
• PwBD: 10 Years
• Ex-Servicemen: 5 Years

Selection Process

Selection for the PNB Local Bank Officer post follows a 4-phase evaluation:

1. Phase 1: Online Written Examination
   • Total 150 Objective Questions (150 Marks) covering Reasoning, Computer Knowledge, Data Analysis & Interpretation, English, and Banking Awareness.
   • Duration: 180 Minutes.
   • Negative marking: 0.25 marks per incorrect answer.
2. Phase 2: Screening of Applications & Documents
   • Verification of educational credentials, experience certificates, and age limits.
3. Phase 3: Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)
   • Qualifying stage to verify communication skills in the designated state language (candidates who studied the language in Class 10/12 may be exempted).
4. Phase 4: Personal Interview
   • Conducted for 50 marks to assess banking knowledge, personality, and suitability.

Salary Structure & Benefits

Selected candidates will be placed under the Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I) pay matrix:

• Scale of Pay: ₹48,480 – 2000/7 – 62,480 – 2340/2 – 67,160 – 2680/7 – ₹85,920.
• Starting Basic Pay: ₹48,480 per month.
• Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA), Leased Accommodation, Medical Reimbursement, and other perks per bank regulations.
