Eligibility Criteria (As of July 1, 2026)

1. Educational Qualifications

• General Requirement: A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a UGC-recognized University.
• Specific Posts: Certain technical/specialized posts require specific qualifications (e.g., B.Com for Audit/Accounts, B.L. for Probation Officer, M.Sc / MCA for ASO Programmer).

2. Age Limit & Relaxations

• Minimum Age: 18 Years (20 Years for Sub Registrar, 22 Years for Probation Officer, 25 Years for Executive Officer).
• Maximum Age Limit (Unreserved / General Category): 32 Years.
• Reserved Categories (SC / ST / MBC / BC / BCM): No Maximum Age Limit (up to 60 years at the time of appointment).

Selection Process

1. Preliminary Examination (Objective Type):
   • Single paper containing 200 Questions (300 Marks | Duration: 3 Hours).
   • General Studies: 75 Questions | Aptitude & Mental Ability: 25 Questions | General Tamil / General English: 100 Questions.
2. Main Written Examination (Descriptive Type):
   • Separate descriptive papers for Group II and Group IIA.
3. Certificate Verification & Counseling / Interview: Final merit ranking based on performance in Mains (and Interview for Group II).
