Role Overview & Core Responsibilities
As a Thumbnail Designer at PhonePe, your primary goal is driving Click-Through Rate (CTR) and visual engagement across digital channels using an AI-first design workflow.
1. Visual Storytelling & CTR Optimization
Design high-impact thumbnails that hook the audience in a split second using balance, contrast, and color theory.
Leverage emotional triggers, composition, and human elements to create curiosity.
Collaborate with the Channel Intelligence team to analyze A/B test results and optimize visual performance.
2. AI-First Workflow & Asset Creation
Use AI generation tools like Midjourney, DALL-E 3, or Stable Diffusion to generate custom elements, textures, and backgrounds.
Utilize advanced Photoshop AI capabilities (Generative Fill, Generative Expand) to build quick visual variations.
Build and organize a reusable asset library to increase design turnaround speed.
3. Data-Driven Iteration
Create multiple thumbnail concepts per video to test different angles and visual hooks.
Track video CTR and view metrics to refine visual branding.
Maintain high visual standards while ensuring brand consistency.
Qualifications & Skills Required
Technical Mastery: Deep experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Generative AI tools (Midjourney, DALL-E 3, Stable Diffusion).
Attention to Detail: Ability to seamlessly blend AI-generated elements with real photography, matching lighting, depth, and perspective.
Speed & Turnaround: High output efficiency to deliver multiple high-quality thumbnails daily.
