Are you an experienced technical communicator with background knowledge in the semiconductor or hardware industry? HCLTech is hosting a Virtual Recruitment Drive on August 22, 2026, to hire Technical Writers (Semiconductor Domain) for its Chennai and Bangalore facilities.

This mid-level role is ideal for technical writers with 3 to 6 years of experience specializing in structured authoring, DDLC, DITA-XML, and hardware/software documentation.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

As a Semiconductor Technical Writer at HCLTech, your primary duties will include:

• Technical Documentation: Authoring and updating User Manuals, Upgrade Procedures, Service Procedures, Site Prep Guides, and Safety Manuals.
• SME Interviews: Interfacing with subject matter experts, product engineering staff, and functional teams to collect technical specifications.
• Structured Content Management: Utilizing DITA-XML, OxygenXML, and CCMS tools for modular content creation, reuse, and single-source publishing.
• AI Integration: Applying AI tools alongside traditional DITA/Oxygen XML authoring workflows.
• Quality & Validation: Supporting validation of procedures, monitoring content quality, and tracking change requests independently.

Eligibility Criteria & Technical Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience: 3 to 6 years of technical writing experience in hardware, semiconductor, or complex engineering domains.
• Tool Proficiency:
  • Authoring & CCMS: DITA-XML, OxygenXML Editor, Adobe FrameMaker, Ixiasoft CCMS.
  • Publishing & Delivery: Fluid Topics, MS Office, Acrobat Pro, SnagIt, ServiceNow.
• Methodologies: Strong knowledge of Document Development Life Cycle (DDLC), structured authoring, content reuse, and single-sourcing.
• Communication: Exceptional written English and ability to collaborate with global cross-functional stakeholders across time zones.
