💰 Pay Scale & Salary Matrix

Salary ranges depend on the designated level under the Tamil Nadu Pay Matrix:

• Level 8 (₹19,500 – ₹71,900): VAO, Junior Assistant, Typist, Bill Collector, Revenue Assistant.
• Level 10 (₹20,600 – ₹75,900): Steno-Typist Grade-III, Personal Clerk, Junior Inspector.
• Level 5 (₹18,200 – ₹57,900): Forest Guard.
• Level 3 (₹16,600 – ₹52,400 / ₹19,500 – ₹62,000): Forest Watcher, Record Clerk, specific Assistant posts.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

• General Minimum Qualification: SSLC / 10th Standard Pass from a recognized board for most administrative posts (VAO, Junior Assistant, Bill Collector).
• Typist / Steno-Typist: SSLC Pass + Technical Qualifications in Typewriting and/or Shorthand (Higher/Lower Grade in Tamil & English) + Certificate Course in Computer Office Automation (COA).
• Forest Guard / Watcher: 10th or 12th Pass (Higher Secondary with Science stream) depending on specific forest post requirements.

2. Age Limit (As of July 1, 2026)

• Minimum Age:
  • 18 Years: For Junior Assistant, Typist, Steno-Typist, Bill Collector, etc.
  • 21 Years: For VAO, Forest Guard, and Forest Watcher posts.
  • 25 Years: For Executive Officer Grade-IV.
• Upper Age Relaxations: Upper age limits vary by community (BC, BCM, MBC, SC, SC(A), ST, Destitute Widows) as per government rules. Candidates in reserved categories who hold qualifications higher than SSLC (like HSC or Degree) do not have a maximum age limit for regular administrative posts.

• Fee Exemptions / Concessions:

  • BC / BCM / MBC / DC: 3 Free Chances.
  • Ex-Servicemen: 2 Free Chances.

🎯 Selection Process

1. OMR-Based Written Examination: Single objective-type test consisting of 200 questions (300 marks) over a duration of 3 hours.
   • Part A: Tamil Eligibility-cum-Scoring Test (100 Questions – 150 Marks).
   • Part B: General Studies & Aptitude/Mental Ability (100 Questions – 150 Marks).
2. Physical Test (If Applicable): Endurance walking test & physical measurement verification strictly for Forest Watcher/Guard posts.
3. Certificate Verification & Counseling: Final allotment based on overall rank, category, and preferences.
