Cognizant Hiring Categories: GenC Next, GenC Pro & GenC
Cognizant offers three hiring pathways based on the skill levels and capabilities of students:
1. GenC Next – Advanced Technical Roles
- Designed for students with strong programming and advanced IT problem-solving skills.
- Roles involve deeper technical challenges and require thorough expertise in modern technologies.
2. GenC Pro – Intermediate Technical Roles
- Suitable for candidates with solid technical knowledge and the ability to work across development, testing, and IT operations.
- Focuses on hands-on programming, practical IT tasks, and technical implementation.
3. GenC – Entry-Level IT Roles
- Ideal for candidates with foundational programming skills.
- Emphasis on problem-solving, basic coding ability, and readiness to learn.
All three hiring tracks include assessments on communication, aptitude, technical knowledge, and a final technical or SME interview.
Eligibility Criteria
- Batch: 2026 graduates
- Degree: B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech
- Note: Streams such as Leather Technology, Food Technology, Fashion Technology, and similar branches are excluded.
- Candidates must demonstrate strong learning agility, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to understand complex technical concepts.
- Basic programming knowledge is mandatory for all hiring categories.
Selection Process Overview
Students applying for GenC Next, GenC Pro, or GenC will undergo:
- Communication assessment
- Aptitude test
- Technical assessment
- Technical/SME interview
- Final selection based on performance across all rounds
