Role Overview
As a Software Engineer (Java Developer) at eBay, you will join the Marketing Technologies Platform Team, responsible for delivering billions of personalized and timely communications to customers globally. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career developers eager to grow their skills and contribute to impactful projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, test, and debug clean Java code for new features and enhancements.
- Assist in bug fixing, software testing, and integration.
- Actively learn new technologies and best practices.
- Collaborate with senior developers, QA teams, and product owners.
- Support existing applications and contribute to technical documentation.
- Participate in code reviews and team discussions.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience: 0–2 years in Java development or equivalent project experience.
- Strong understanding of Java OOP concepts, basic data structures, and algorithms.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Spring Framework/Spring Boot.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with build tools (Maven/Gradle).
- Experience with JUnit or other testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Docker.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Interest in AI-powered coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex).
