About the Role

As a Presales Engineer at Zoho, you will act as a key connector between the sales team and customers. Your primary responsibility is to understand client requirements, present tailored product demonstrations, guide them through the technical evaluation process, and support the sales cycle with expertise.

This role demands strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to translate business challenges into effective product solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Client Discovery & Engagement

  • Conduct detailed discovery sessions to understand business goals, challenges, stakeholders, and expected outcomes.
  • Deliver customized product demonstrations focused on value rather than just features.
  • Plan and execute Proof of Concepts (PoCs) based on client workflows.

Technical Support for Sales

  • Own and respond to technical sections of RFPs and RFIs; maintain a reusable content repository.
  • Prepare statements of work (SOW), estimations, and implementation strategies.
  • Maintain demo environments, sample datasets, and scripted flows for presentations.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Share market feedback with product teams to help refine the product roadmap.
  • Enable partners with training and product knowledge sessions.
  • Maintain clean and detailed CRM notes—discovery insights, next steps, PoC updates, risks, and win/loss reasoning.
  • Track and report presales KPIs such as:
    • Demo-to-PoC conversion rate
    • Win rate
    • PoC pass rate
    • Sales cycle timelines

Industry and Competitive Analysis

  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor solutions.
  • Provide insights to the sales team to position Zoho’s products effectively.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of presales or related experience with direct customer interaction.
  • Strong communication skills—clear writing and confident presentation ability.
  • Ability to convert customer business requirements into practical technical workflows.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Comfortable working in night shifts.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams within a fast-paced environment.
