Key Responsibilities
As an intern in the finance team, you will support various critical accounting functions:
- Accounts Payable: Verify and process vendor invoices (utilities, housekeeping, food suppliers, etc.).
- Transaction Recording: Maintain day-to-day financial transactions, including bills and payments, in the accounting system.
- Ledger Maintenance: Keep accurate and up-to-date journals and supporting documentation.
- Financial Closing: Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations.
- Audit Support: Prepare audit schedules and working papers for statutory and tax audits.
- Tax Compliance: Support Direct Tax, Indirect Tax (GST), and TDS filings.
- Regulatory Compliance: Assist with MCA/ROC filings and other statutory requirements.
Requirements: Who Should Apply?
Poshmark is looking for candidates with a foundational background in finance. Please note that absolute freshers are not preferred for this specific role.
Experience Needed:
- Prior internship experience in accounting OR
- 1–2 years of relevant work experience in finance/accounting.
Educational Background:
- Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
- B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter candidates are preferred.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Foundational Knowledge: Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Compliance: Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with accounting software or ERP tools is an added advantage.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and good communication skills.
