Southern Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 4,471 Vacancies

Southern Railway has officially released a recruitment notification (Notification No: 01/2026 / CPB/ P1/ 98/ Act/ TP/ Vol.XXI) for 4,471 Apprentice vacancies across various divisions including Chennai, Madurai, Trichy, Salem, Coimbatore, Arakkonam, Perambur, Podanur, Palakkad, and Thiruvananthapuram.

This drive is open to 10th Pass, 12th Pass, and ITI Certificate holders. Selection will be conducted purely on a Merit Basis (academic marks) with no written examination.

Educational Qualification & Eligibility

Fresher Category

• Fitter, Painter & Welder: 10th Class Passed with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
• Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT): 12th Class Passed (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, securing a minimum 50% aggregate score.

Ex-ITI Category

• Standard Trades (Fitter, Wireman, Welder, Diesel Mechanic, Plumber, Turner, etc.): 10th Class Passed + relevant ITI Trade Certificate (NCVT/SCVT).
• Electrician: 10th Class Passed with Science + ITI in Electrician trade (NCVT/SCVT).
• Electronics Mechanic: 10th Class Passed with Physics, Chemistry & Math + ITI in Electronics Mechanic (NCVT/SCVT).
• Stenographer & Secretarial Assistant: 12th Class Passed + ITI in Stenography/Secretarial practice.
• COPA / PASAA: 10th Class Passed + National Trade Certificate in COPA.

Age Limit & Relaxations

• Fresher Category: 15 to 22 Years
• Ex-ITI & MLT Category: 15 to 24 Years

Upper Age Relaxation:

• SC / ST: 5 Years
• OBC: 3 Years
• PwBD (General / EWS): 10 Years
• PwBD (OBC): 13 Years

Application Fee & Selection Process

• Application Fee: ₹100 for General / OBC / EWS male candidates.
• Fee Exemption: NO FEE for SC, ST, PwBD, and Female candidates.
• Selection Process:
  1. Merit List Generation (Based on 10th / 12th / ITI Marks)
  2. Document Verification(No Written Examination or Interview required)

7. Upload required documents and certificates.
8. Pay the ₹100 application fee online (if applicable) and submit the application.
9. Download and retain a printout of the submitted confirmation form.
