🛠️ The Role: What You’ll Do
As part of the Proofpoint support group, you will provide “white glove service” to enterprise clients. Your daily responsibilities will include:
Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues within Protection Server products.
System Environment: Frequently working within Linux command line environments to perform root cause analysis.
Customer Interaction: Hosting remote sessions (WebEx) with customers, resellers, and partners to provide configuration help and best practice advice.
Knowledge Management: Documenting technical solutions and publishing articles for the internal and customer-facing Knowledge Base.
Collaboration: Working closely with Sustaining Engineering for high-level escalations.
🎓 Qualifications & Requirements
To excel in this role, candidates should possess a strong technical foundation in networking and server management.
Technical Skills
Server Management: Proven knowledge of Windows or Linux Server management.
Networking Protocols: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, SSH, DNS, SMTP, FTP, and LDAP.
Database & Email: Experience with MySQL, Exchange, and general email system architectures.
Operating Systems: Comfort with Linux is essential for this role.
Soft Skills
Critical Thinking: Ability to independently troubleshoot software in complex, distributed environments.
Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for interacting with global enterprise clients.
