This Automation Engineer role is part of Thermo Fisher’s innovative Bangalore division — a hub of advanced technology and research. You will join a talented team dedicated to building end-to-end automation solutions that simplify operations, improve efficiency, and accelerate scientific advancements.

✨ What You Will Do (Day in the Life)

As an Automation Engineer, you will:

  • Design and implement end-to-end automation workflows using:
    • Ansible
    • StackStorm
    • Terraform
    • Python
    • Modern orchestration tools
  • Integrate enterprise systems like ServiceNow, BigPanda, and monitoring platforms.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams (Cloud, DevOps, Infrastructure) to build scalable and resilient automation solutions.
  • Document reusable components, runbooks, automation guidelines, and processes.
  • Drive efficiency by eliminating manual tasks and enabling seamless self-service capabilities across the organization.

🎓 Education & Eligibility

You should have:
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
—or—
✔ Equivalent professional experience in Automation/DevOps Engineering

🛠️ Required Experience & Skills

Technical Expertise

  • Proven experience in automation engineering or DevOps roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Ansible, StackStorm, Python
    • Terraform / IaC tools
  • Knowledge of workflow automation platforms (StackStorm/n8n preferred)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience with monitoring & incident tools:
    • BigPanda
    • Prometheus
    • Grafana
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices
  • Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell

Other Skills

  • Solid knowledge of data center technologies, virtualization & networking
  • Ability to design modular, scalable automation components
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning

This is a fully onsite position in the Bangalore office.
Occasional travel to data centers may be required.
